1:1 EFL Session
These are offered to individuals and a programme of 6 – 8 sessions is advised for maximum benefit. Please note that a discount may be offered in booking and paying for a block in advance. Sessions are 90 minutes duration for those over 16 years old and 60 minutes for under 16’s or for those who may find a longer session difficult. Longer-term programmes can be offered based on individual need. Sessions are based on the LEAP Method (LEAP is an accredited EFL Training Provider, www.leapequine.com). All sessions are suited to individual needs and aimed at personal and professional development as appropriate.
We also offer 1:1 sessions for young people referred via Early Help through Warwickshire County Council’s Mental Health Interventions for School Children and Coventry’s Youth Justice Service.
Alternative Education Provision
These may be offered as a 1:1 session or as part of a small group. Sessions are tailored to suit individual and group needs and are offered in a minimum of hourly sessions to half or full days dependant on need. Sessions deliver curriculum relevant learning in a unique outdoor learning environment, breaking down many of the barriers to learning that may be faced in a more traditional classroom setting. Hooves in Harmony work closely with existing education providers to allow learning to compliment the classroom-based curriculum.
A Horse Care course is currently offered via Coventry Alternative Provision (Horse Care – Hooves in Harmony C.I.C – Alternative Provision Directory 23/24 – Coventry City Council) for young people aged 13 plus and attending school in Coventry or Warwickshire. This runs on Thursday’s and Friday’s during term time and includes working towards a number of AQA Unit Awards at Level 1 and Level 2.
Pony Partnership Sessions
These are offered generally to our younger clients (7 years plus) and are stand alone sessions. The 3 hour sessions cater for a maximum of 6 young people and involve an introduction to horsemanship. Activities include grooming, ground work with the horses, the ancient tradition of Native American horse painting and its meaning, before finishing with toasting marshmallows around the fire pit. These sessions encourage working together as a team whilst developing skills such as communication, problem-solving and leadership in a fun way. Pony Partnership sessions are offered in the school holidays.
